Shade Ranch offers two wonderful Texas Hill Country riverfront homes (both updated in 2012-13) for your enjoyment, both meant to maximize your Blanco riverfront experience. These homes are available for rental either together or separate to suit your needs.
Casa Grande on the Blanco is a large 2800 square foot traditional Hill Country home with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and 2 huge living areas for weekend or weekly rental for up to 12 of your family or friends. Little House on the Blanco is a 1000 square foot traditional Hill Country home with 1 bedroom and 1 bath with additional beds for weekend or weekly rental for up to 5 total guests.
The river itself has something for all ages with shallow areas perfect for small children as well as a long stretches of deeper water of 4-5 feet in depth for swimming. We are lucky to be located on a part of the Blanco that has deep water even in extended drought periods. The private grassy ten acres of The Wimberley Retreat provide more than enough room for everyone to run, play, throw a ball or frisbee, have a kickball game, or just explore the wonders of nature: birds, fish, turtles, frogs, lizards, butterflies, and wildflowers. Some fishing and butterfly nets are provided. Feel free to bring your fishing poles, river shoes, kayaks and canoes.

The Blanco River invites you to swim or wade in its cool clear waters and leave all of your worries behind. Or grab your fishing rod! Fly Fishing magazine identifies the Upper Blanco River area as ". . . one of the best fly fishing spots in Texas." Bring your kayak or canoe, and don't forget the floats and water shoes for tubing down the rapids. There’s plenty of room to enjoy a picnic lunch, an afternoon nap or book, or a gorgeous sunrise or sunset, on the banks of the Blanco River.
